A CAMPAIGN to send Christmas shoeboxes to soldiers in Ukraine has been so successful, a bigger vehicle is now needed.
Joan Minns, of All Saints Church, Gurnard, and Nigel Watson of Sandown Methodist Church, have worked together on the project.
Shoeboxes have been dropped off at the churches and also at the County Press office in Newport - and 300 have now been collected.
Nigel is going to Ukraine at the end of November to deliver them, but due to the success of the project, he can't fit them all in his van.
As festive filled shoeboxes continue to come in, an appeal has gone out to find a bigger vehicle.
Nigel is likely to be gone for about a month, and he wonders if anyone has a large van he can borrow.
Alternatively, if anyone wants to drive their own van out to Ukraine, alongside Nigel's van, Nigel will happily give advice (and directions)! He has recently spent four months in the country.
Anyone who might be able to offer a solution, can call Nigel on 07788 728503.
