AN ISLE of Wight cafe has announced ‘with heavy hearts’ it will close after nearly 20 years serving customers in Ningwood, Ryde and St Helens.
Kevars Cafe in the Country, on Eddington Road in St Helens, closed its doors for the final time yesterday (Sunday, November 13).
Earlier this month, the popular cafe announced that due to conflicting differences, forces beyond its control and the landlord choosing a change of direction for the premises, the cafe’s tenancy became unsustainable.
The owners said is a ‘very sad situation’ for them, as the cafe was supposed to be their last business before retirement.
Kevars Cafe’s owners said: “We'd like to thank everyone, both staff and customers, for their support and loyalty over the years from all our cafes.
“We leave St Helens with heavy hearts, but the cafe is clean, the landlord is happy, and we move on to wherever life takes us next.
“It's been a blast!”
