A charter vessel is replacing Wightlink FastCats between Ryde and Portsmouth, today (Wednesday).

The usual service is currently suspended, because of propeller damage to Wight Ryder 2.
The firm's second boat is out for a refit.
Yesterday, there were no services between Ryde and Portsmouth, because bad weather forced the cancellation of Hovertravel services too.

It meant stranded passengers were bussed to Fishbourne, as all services between Ryde and Portsmouth were off, during morning rush hour.
This morning, Hovertravel is running, but with delays of around 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, Wightlink engineers are working to repair the FastCat.
The 8.52pm from Ryde will not run tonight, the firm has warned, and journey times may vary, with passengers urged to make more time for crossings, especially if they are trying to make an connection on the mainland.
