Two Isle of Wight flood alerts remain in force, this lunchtime (Tuesday), although a more serious flood warning has now been lifted

Unsettled weather and strong winds have meant high water and some flooding in East Cowes this morning, including at Albany Road and on the roundabout next to Waitrose.

From today, tide levels will fall and no further impacts were expected, said the Environment Agency.

A flood alert is in place until 5pm, for the Isle of Wight coast.

At the Eastern Yar, water levels remain high but they are falling by 1cm per hour, however a flood alert remains until 2pm tomorrow.

Showers over the next 48 hours are unlikely to impact the river, but will increase flood impacts on land, roads and gardens.

From Thursday, the weather is forecast is for it to be dry and the situation should improve.

Bembridge sluice continues to manage water levels at Brading Marshes.
