Strike action by mainland signallers means overnight disruption for South Western Railway's Isle of Wight trains, until Thursday.

Due to industrial action on the mainland, Island Line's signals cannot be operated.

Between 7pm and 7am each night, until November 10, services are cancelled.

During that time, replacement buses will run along the train route, between Ryde and Shanklin.

Meanwhile, travel disruption affected passengers trying to cross the Solent between Ryde and Portsmouth, on Tuesday morning.

Weather and damage combined to mean no services were running at all.
