A damaged propeller means Wightlink's FastCats are suspended - on the same morning school and work commute that sees Hovertravel's hovercraft off due to the weather.

Replacement buses, minibuses and taxis are taking stranded passengers to Wightlink's Fishbourne car ferry terminal.

Wightlink's Wight Ryder 2 hit debris in the water on its last journey last night (Monday) and is out of service.

The cross-Solent operator's second boat is currently being refitted and adverse weather means the hovers are off too.

Last night, Hovertravel also announced it had technical difficulties, though its services had resumed again.
