Isle of Wight Island Line train passengers should expect disruption, as a result of mainland strike action, tonight (Monday).
Walkouts by RMT union members are impact mainland south coast services until Thursday, November 10.
The Isle of Wight is largely unaffected, and a standard daytime timetable will run (where possible), between Ryde and Shanklin.
However, Island Line will be suspended between 7pm and 7am, tonight (Monday, November 7) and into tomorrow.
SWR says this is because Network Rail’s electrical control room operators, based in Eastleigh - from where power to Island Line is provided - will be taking part in the industrial action.
It means Network Rail will be unable to operate Island Line, overnight.
Elsewhere, strike days will see a severely reduced service, including on Guy Fawkes Night.
South Western Railway’s Performance and Planning Director, Steve Tyler, said: "We are grateful to our customers for their continued cooperation, patience, and understanding as the rail industry works to bring this damaging nationwide strike action to an end."
