Hovertravel to run this new Isle of Wight crossing permanently

Head of commercial, Loretta Lale, said: "Having reviewed the demand for this flight, we are delighted to announce this departure is now part of our normal timetable."

The cross-Solent operator said it expected the journey to be useful for weekend commuters, and school children with Saturday activities, as well as those crossing for leisure.

It said it is also investigating extra crossings at other times, when demand is proven.
