An Isle of Wight man has admitted two counts of criminal damage, and one count of sending a communication conveying a threatening message after being arrested near the Red Jet terminal in Cowes.

Edward Lale, 29, of Marlborough Close, Ryde, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He admitted the offences and was given conditional bail until November 25.

Pre-sentence reports are being drawn up by the probation service.

Lale was arrested near the Red Jet terminal in Cowes last Thursday on suspicion of making threats to kill, criminal damage and a malicious communications offence.

No further action was taken over the allegation of making threats to kill.
