The blood test department at the Isle of Wight's St Mary’s Hospital is on the move.
From Monday, (October 31), it will temporarily relocate from its current location - before reopening in the North Hospital building, on the Isle of Wight NHS Trust's site off Medina Way, in Newport.
It is part of £38m improvement plans, but it also means a smaller waiting room and reduced capacity.
As the Isle of Wight County Press previously reported, blood tests are increasingly being carried out at GP surgeries and the NHS Trust says routine and non urgent blood tests should happen there, wherever possible.
Here's what that means if you are going to the Isle of Wight hospital for a blood test
- Blood testing at the current phlebotomy department will stop at 11am on Friday, October 28
- Blood testing starts again on Monday, October 31, at 7.30am, in the new North Hospital location
- Use the North Car Park, signposted from the main entrance to St Mary’s.
- Drop-off spaces and disabled parking are available
