WIGHTLINK has announced a series of cancellations on its Yarmouth to Lymington route today (Monday).
The cross-Solent ferry operator said it was due to the absence of an essential crew member.
If they don't have back-up staff available, they cannot operate the service.
The following ferries will not run:
From Lymington: 6.15am, 8.40am, 10.45am and 1pm sailings.
From Yarmouth: 7.30am, 9.45am, 11.45am and 2.05pm sailings.
A spokesperson said: "We apologise for the inconvenience this action will cause."
MP Bob Seely said in the House of Commons last week that he wanted to see guaranteed levels of service across The Solent, to ensure minimum services due to Islanders having no alternatives.
