No-ONE has come forward to take on the organisation of Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival - so it will no longer take place in the same format.
Chris Goodman has had to step down from his pivotal volunteer role due to his health after nearly 20 years of dedication to the event.
The County Press reported on Chris's retirement last November.
Isle of Wight Pearl will be organising a smaller version of the event at their Military Road base, as they did last year.
Chris said: "I am having quite a number of emails regarding the Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival.
"It saddens me to have to report that no-one has come forward to take on the role of organiser.
"Having done so for nearly 20 years and due to my health (and age!) I have had to 'retire' from the role.
"Thanks to everyone who has supported, displayed, visited the festival in past years. I am sorry that the time has come for me to 'hang up my spurs'."
Anyone interested in taking part in the Isle of Wight Pearl event should contact manager Lizzie Wade on 740352 or 741609 to find out more.
