THIS week has been UK Coffee Week, so what better time to share our reader's favourite Newport coffee shops?

We asked where you would go to grab your favourite coffee. The votes have beencounted, and here are YOUR top five.

5. Caffe Isola

Caffe Isola, set in the heart of the town centre on St James’ Street at the old Beavis building, grew from humble beginnings on Watchbell Lane in 2006.

The cafe's downstairs offers simple hot food, with an Italian twist, with a profiling roastery on the first floor, allowing customers to watch the roasting process, and giving Caffe Isola a facility to develop new coffees.

The first floor also houses Island craft producers, as well as a range of tea and coffee-making equipment and gadgets, including home espresso machines.

Caffe Isola also offers two workspaces available to rent, one ideal for one-to-one meetings or conference calls and the other more suited to a seminar or training room with presentation facilities.

The venue can also be booked for private functions and runs events such as quizzes, music nights and themed meals.

The cafe is open Monday to Saturday from 8am – 6pm and Sunday from 9am – 5pm.

4. Richmonds Bakery

Richmonds Bakery, found in St James Square, out of the former Starbucks site, is an artisan bakery specialising in cupcakes, cakes and traybakes.

With a store also based in Bath Road, Cowes, the bakery has a loyalty card scheme, so after your ninth hot drink, you’ll receive your tenth for free.

As part of UK Coffee Week, Richmonds donated 20p from every coffee sold to Project Windfall, a charity working to end the water crisis in coffee-growing communities.

Richmonds have recently changed its opening times, offering customers the chance to grab a coffee they start work or just fancy an earlier morning caffeine hit.

The bakery is open Monday to Saturday from 8.30am – 4pm and Sundays 10am – 4pm.

Customers can expect a selection of coffees, hot chocolates, iced teas and coffees, fruit and coffee freezers and milkshakes, including Ferrero Roche, Kinder Bueno and Mars.

The coffee shop is open on weekdays and Saturdays from 9am – 5pm and 10am – 3pm on Sundays.

Sheer Pink, found on Holyrood Street, opened in June 2021, bringing speciality coffee, brewing tips and innovative ideas to Newport.

The venue is a small and friendly place, which encourages conversation, but is also a great takeaway coffee stop for anyone on the go.

In June, the coffee shop was given the opportunity to provide coffee for main stage artists and crew at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Sheer Pink is open on weekdays from 7.30am – 4pm.

1. ComiCoffee
