From ghost walks to magic shows, there is plenty to do on the Isle of Wight this Halloween.
This is your guide to Halloween events on the Island this October.
Halloween Spooks Night in Newport
Newport Carnival is hosting a Halloween event at The Riverside Centre on Friday, October 28, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
There'll be a disco, fancy dress, Guy Fawkes competition (take along your own Guy), magic by David Randini, games and refreshments.
Ticket prices are just £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children. There are only 300 tickets available so don't delay! More information is on Facebook by clicking here
Paranormal Investigations at Northwood House
It is said that the Isle of Wight is the most haunted county in England, and it is believed by many that Northwood House is the most haunted building of them all. So there is probably no better place on the Island to carry out a real paranormal investigation to see what lies within.
Join paranormal investigators to immerse yourselves in the deep history of this much loved, yet seemingly haunted ancient building.

Terror Island at Blackgang Chine
Multi award-winning scare attraction Terror Island is back and better than ever for 2022 and tickets are now available. On select dates this October, Terror Island, returns to Blackgang Chine.
Experience a freakishly epic night out featuring some horrifying new additions.
It scooped the Best New Event/Attraction award from ScareCON in 2019 plus the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce ‘Made on the Isle of Wight’ award in 2022.
Expect live music, DJ sets, street entertainment and a bar. This year, the event will feature three epic scare mazes, with fan-favourite cannibal hideout, The Blood Shed, returning for its third year of horrors.
Not only that, but the event’s other two existing scare mazes, Amphibious and Hexcavation, have been revamped with even more nightmarish features for every-BODY...with the new names Amphibious: Darklight and Hexcavation: Demon Keeper.
A new scare experience, Blind Alley, will see the doors of the Victorian Apothecary open once more to unleash the sinister secrets that lie within...but with a twist. Navigate your way through the nightmares that lurk behind the shadows of the old town’s winding alleys as your senses are put to the test in the Island’s very first hooded maze experience!
Halloween Spooktacular at Shanklin Chine
Historic attraction Shanklin Chine is transforming into a haven for Halloween ghosts and ghouls this half term.
From Friday, October 14, through to Monday, October 31, the Chine will be offering a spooky experience aimed at children and families.
There’s no need to pre-book and standard admission fees apply and you still get your free return within seven days.
There will be themed, live Monster Mash-Up Music from Charles Gold 6pm to 8pm on the below evenings, so dress up according to the theme…

Ghost Tours at Carisbrooke Castle
Do you dare explore Carisbrooke Castle in the dark this Halloween?
Join storytellers as they guide you on a journey through the past. With tales of ghosts, supernatural sightings and horrors from history.
These tours are suitable for those aged 16+. Dogs, except for service dogs, are not permitted.
Don't forget to bring a torch - things are going to get dark...
The event runs from Friday, October 28, to Monday, October 31, at 6pm, 7.15pm and 8.30pm.
Northwood House Halloween History Tour
A special spooky evening featuring ghost stories, myths, legends and supernatural tales associated with Northwood House, a renowned haunted venue.
This is far more than just a walk though a darkened building on Halloween night – it’s a chance to unravel the history of the house and to find out why this rambling Georgian manor maybe so haunted as you tour the many rooms and passageways at night by candlelight.
See the cellars, tunnels, empty servant’s rooms and nuns cells.
Island historian and house expert Tim Wander will be your guide on Halloween night, telling you all about the haunted history of this iconic Island building… escorting you through the labyrinth of corridors and cellars. Only stopping to tell you who once lived there, and maybe discover if they still do.
Festival of the Dead at Robin Hill
Celebrate spooky season at Robin Hill, which has been transformed into an immersive journey from the land of the living to the land of the dead for a first Festival of the Dead.
Inspired by Día de los Muertos, on select dates until October 29, you can surround yourself with vibrant eruptions of light and colour inspired by the traditional Mexican celebration.
Experience new light installations within never seen before walkways to celebrate life in the land of the dead.
Dance the night away at the park’s masquerade ball featuring DJ sets and a live Mariachi band under colourful Papel picado flags with street entertainment and flavours of Mexico.
Frights and Sprites at Blackgang Chine
Blackgang Chine will see the return of their resident ghost and ghouls as the park’s spooktacular extravaganza, Frights and Sprites, takes over this October half-term for even more screams and treats.
Featuring a new Rumpus Mansion live story, spooky discos, fancy dress competitions and Godwin’s iconic Puppet Show, the park has everything you need for the ultimate family fun day.
Put on your witch’s hat, grab your broom and fly on down to Blackgang Chine this half-term. Runs from October 24 to 30.

Halloween Cine and Dine at the Old Barracks
At The Old Barracks at Puckpool Park in Ryde, there's a Halloween "cine and dine" event on Sunday, October 30.
Watch Hocus Pocus, enjoy a meal and there are prizes for the best fancy dressed child.
Spooktacular Steam Railway
The magic of Halloween is returning to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for Wizard Week
during half term, from October 24 to 28.
The Railway will be conjuring up plenty of tricks and treats and it wouldn't be Halloween half term without a little magic with the Magical Professor Crump casting a spooky spell or two.
Meet the friendly witches of Havenstreet as they wander the platform, as they dish out trick or treat bags for you to enjoy on your ghostly steam train journey through the haunted Island countryside.
There will be daily prizes for the best costumes, so fancy dress is encouraged.
Park of the Dead
This popular event, held at Puckpool Park, has been postponed until November 25 to 27.
Tickets will go on sale towards the end of October.
Donkey Halloween week
Between October 22 – 30, the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary will host Halloween fun with its ghosts and ghouls quiz, spooky-themed treats in Grazers Cafe and lots of activities with the donkeys and ponies.
On October 26, the Sanctuary will have its main Halloween day, with fancy dress competitions for adults, children and dogs!
The Sanctuary will have a best-carved pumpkin and best-decorated carrot contest; however, pumpkins and carrots will not be supplied.
There will be a spooky barn with a lucky dip, and donkey grooming will be available from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

Halloween Fun at Fort Victoria Country Park
Fort Victoria will be putting together some free activities to keep kids entertained for Halloween.
It has two fun ‘trails’ in the county park, one easier and another slightly longer and more challenging.
Follow the trails looking for letters as you go. Once you have written down all the letters, you need to un-jumble them to solve the anagram. When you have the answer, head back to the Imaginarium to claim a prize.
Another free activity will be the clue hunt. Solve the clues, write down the letters as you go and solve the anagram before heading to the museum to collect your prize.
The Reptilarium will be having bugs and beasties encounters throughout the week, where you get up close and learn some interesting facts about some of the creepy inhabitants, such as the death’s hand cockroach!
Island residents are offered a reduced entry into the Reptilarium, valid for the Halloween half term, on the Fort Victoria website.
The Imaginarium is offering free colouring activities to keep youngsters amused whilst parents can browse the shop, and the Planetarium will be hosting its star exploration immersive dome shows.
The Ranger will be leading fossil forays along the beach to find crocodile teeth and other fossilised remains.
