Royal historian Hugo Vickers, journalist Rory Cellan-Jones and a talk by pilot Mike Bannister, on what was once the world's fastest plane, are among the highlights at the Isle of Wight Literary Festival today (Friday).
The four-day event, based a Northwood House in Cowes and other local venues, is drawing crowds of book lovers.
This lunchtime, in Northwood House's ballroom, Hugo Vickers will discuss the most important moments and experiences in the life of the Duke of Kent.
BBC journalist and former technology correspondent, Rory Cellan-Jones will consider hyperconnectivity - the impact of smartphones and social media on everything from our democracy to our employment and our health.
His talk gets underway this afternoon, in St Mary's Church, Cowes.
At the same venue, from 4.20pm, former Concorde pilot Mike Bannister will give his account of the rise and fall of this incredible plane.
There are a host of other events taking place today and over the weekend.
