POLICE have ruled out any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a yachtswoman who fell overboard in The Solent off Cowes on Saturday.
The 43-year-old woman was lifted out of the water by a Cowes Harbour Commission launch and taken to Trinity Landing in Cowes, where resuscitation attempts by paramedics failed.

Two other casualties from the woman's boat were taken to St Mary's Hospital in Newport, and a fourth crewman was taken to Cowes unharmed.

With the circumstances surrounding the woman's death remaining unclear, Hampshire Constabulary, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, have launched an inquiry into Saturday afternoon's incident.
In a short statement, a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "There will be no criminal investigation."
Police are currently preparing a file for the Isle of Wight Coroner.
