THE Isle of Wight man accused of being responsible for the death of Michaela Logan in a tragic car crash more than two years ago, has been acquitted.
The Crown Prosecution Service offered no edvidence against Mackensie Hallett on the second day of his trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court today (Tuesday).

Hallett, 20, of Arundel Road, Ryde, had denied causing death by dangerous driving in the incident which led to the Hale Common death of Miss Logan on January 10, 2020.
Miss Logan, of Carisbrooke Road, Newport, was 19 years old when she died in a crash on the A3056, near Arreton.
The judge in the trial, Richard Shepherd, formally acquitted Hallett.

Hallett, however, must face sentencing for admitting to the lesser offence of dangerous driving.
Miss Logan had been driving a Ford Fiesta, while Hallett was in a Ford Focus.
A number of floral tributes were left at the crash scene.
Hallett will be sentenced at the same venue on a date yet to fixed.
He remains disqualified from driving in the interim until the hearing.
