Hampshire Constabulary says some of its officers were threatened with a wooden pole in Sandown last night (Thursday), while they investigated a break-in at a former Isle of Wight hotel.
Isle of Wight police say electricity was also taken from the Parkbury Hotel, on the Broadway.
Four youths were arrested, by the South Wight policing team.
Police said: "Work continues in partnership with the hotel owners to ensure the security of the site"

In recent months, the former 40 bed venue has also been the scene of a fire.

Bought by the controversial Carlauren Group, which has collapsed, there have been concerns about the hotel since 2019.
Just one year earlier, it was getting glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and used to have wooden panelling from an ocean liner.
