THE Isle of Wight will be represented at the Queen's funeral at Westminster Abbey today (Monday, September 19).
Mrs Susie Sheldon, the Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, will travel to London to represent the Island.
The Lord-Lieutenant is an honorary office appointed by the Monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister and is the permanent representitive of the Crown on the Island.
Mrs Sheldon took up her post on March 26, 2019, following the retirement of the former Lord Lieutenant, Maj Gen Sir Martin White.

Following the death of the Queen on Thursday, September 8, the Lord-Lieutenant said: "Her Majesty will be deeply missed, not only by the people of the United Kingdom and within her beloved Commonwealth, but also right across the World.
"We acknowledge, and are grateful for, her influence on so many aspects of our lives and for the selfless example of duty and service she has set for each and every one of us.
"The whole Royal Family is in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time, but in particular our new Sovereign, Charles, as we pledge our allegiance to His Majesty as he becomes our King."
