Flags are flying high this morning (Sunday), as the Isle of Wight prepares to hear a Proclamation announcing the accession of King Charles III to the throne.
The High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Kay Marriott, and His Majesty's Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Brigadier Maurice Sheen, will be in St Thomas' Square, Newport, for the reading of the Proclamation, at 1pm.
It is a centuries old tradition.
Islanders are invited to gather outside Newport Minster to hear the announcement.
Meanwhile, church services are being held this morning across the Island.
