Isle of Wight band Wet Leg will battle it out with Harry Styles, Sam Fender and Little Simz tonight (Thursday) for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

The Islanders are hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year's winner, Arlo Parks.
Wet Leg have confirmed they are back in the UK for the event and commented, 'jeepers'.
The bid to be named best British album of the year includes a nomination for the Chaise Longue hitmakers, whose self-titled album, Wet Leg, went to number one in April.

How to watch the Mercury Music Prize ceremony
- The winner will be announced tonight (Thursday, September 8) at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London
- The show is being broadcast live on on BBC Four and on BBC 6 Music
- BBC Four's show starts at 9pm. BBC 6 Music's coverage kicks off at 7pm
Who is the running for the Mercury Music prize?
Wet Leg's, band's tour mate, Harry Styles, has also received a nomination for Harry’s House.
Sam Fender, who played the Isle of Wight Festival in 2021, has been nominated for Seventeen Going Under.
Little Simz is a return nominee, for Sometimes I Might be Introvert.
Also in the running is Self Esteem, nominated for Prioritise Pleasure; Nova Twins, for Supernova; Scottish pianist Fergus McCreadie, for Forest Floor; and Jessie Buckley, for her debut album For All Our Days That Tear The Heart, with Bernard Butler.
Rapper Kojey Radical's Reason To Smile; Wales's Gwenno, who actually sings in Cornish on her nominated album, Tresor; and Yard Act's The Overload are also in the running.
It's been another huge year for Wet Leg, who played the Isle of Wight Festival in a homecoming gig, made headlines with their Glastonbury performance and announced plans to tour with Harry Styles.

This year’s Mercury Music Prize awards show will feature a variety of live performances from all of the nominees apart from Harry Styles, who is on tour in the US. Instead, a filmed live performance from Harry will be screened.
Tonight's show will be hosted by djs Lauren Laverne and Annie Mac, while singer/songwriters Jamie Cullum and Anna Calvi are among the prize's judges.
