DARTS, who had a string of chart hits in the late 1970s and early 1980s, are coming to Medina Theatre.
Catch them at 7.30pm on September 16 to hear the hits, which include Daddy Cool/The Girl Can’t Help It, Boy From New York City, Duke of Earl and Reet Petite.
Darts are a nine-strong, energetic doo-wop group of tight harmonies.
Expect first-rate musicianship, intricate vocal acrobatics, a larger-than-life stage show, and humour injected into their live performances.
After lying dormant for over 20 years, Darts eventually succumbed to the cajoling of their ever-faithful, hard-core fan base who were constantly demanding they reform.
The band eventually took the plunge, agreeing to ‘test the water’ and did a few one-off gigs with most of the original members.
Such a good time was had by all that they decided to carry on, with the full line-up.
Darts are Den Hegarty (vocals), Griff Fender (vocals), Rita Ray (vocals), Pikey Butler (vocals), Horatio Hornblower (saxophone), Duncan Kerr (guitar), Nosmo King (drums), Thump Thomson (bass guitar) and Jimmy ‘The Nit’ Compton (keyboards).
