AN ISLE of Wight community will hold a bike decoration competition as it seeks to brighten up its street for the Tour of Britain finale in September.
The final leg of the tour will be on Sunday, September 11, when around 100 of the world’s best cyclists will take on the 150-kilometre route.
Competitors will hit speeds of around 40mph on sections of the course - which will weave around the Island, taking in Sandown, Cowes, Niton and Freshwater, Newport and more.

One such location where the live-broadcasted tour will pass through is Gunville in Newport, where residents have planned a day of festivities.
Tour of Britain will arrive in Gunville Road at around 1pm.
Residents are holding a bike decoration competition, with judging held on the day of the finale and prizes awarded.
The bikes will then line the street as the riders pass through.
BBQ and refreshments will be available from Gunville Methodist Church.
