The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust and the Southern Co-op have joined forces to clean up part of Ryde.
Four bags of litter were collected and brambles were cut back at a recreation ground that is a familiar haunt for the furry favourites.
A team from the West Street store helped Helen Butler from The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust with the project.
The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust is dedicated to the protection and survival of native red squirrels, their habitat, and the species that share it with them.
Helen Butler, from the Wight Squirrel Project, said: "If you see red squirrel, don't keep it to yourself.
"Become a 'citizen scientist' by reporting the squirrel sighting (dead or alive) to Wight Squirrel Project."
