HUNDREDS of properties in more than 30 post codes on the Isle of Wight suffered a power cut.
UPDATE: Power is now restored.
The fault, in the PO36 and PO37 areas of Shanklin, was initially reported to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) at 4.35pm today (Saturday).
Engineers have since been called out, with electricity predicted to be restored by 8pm.
It is unclear whether a fire in Bathingbourne Lane, near Newchurch, at the same time is connected to the outage.
The 33 affected post codes are: PO36 9JT, PO36 9JX, PO36 9LE, PO36 9LG, PO36 9LQ, PO36 9PD, PO37 6EE, PO37 6EF, PO37 6EN, PO37 6EP, PO37 6ER, PO37 6ES, PO37 6ET, PO37 6EU, PO37 6EW, PO37 6EX, PO37 6EY, PO37 6EZ, PO37 6HA, PO37 6HB, PO37 7AT, PO37 7BF, PO37 7BG, PO37 7BH, PO37 7BQ, PO37 7BT, PO37 7BU, PO37 7BW, PO37 7BY, PO37 7BZ, PO37 7DA, PO37 7HZ and PO37 7JD.
