HOMES in Godshill, Wroxall and the outskirts of Shanklin are without power this evening (Wednesday, August 17).

56 postcodes have been affected, including PO36, PO37 and PO38 postcodes.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) were alerted to the outage at 5.26pm.

According to the Power Track map, the incident has been logged, but engineers are currently not en route.

SSEN says it aims to bring back power by 8.30pm.

The energy company have contacted those affected with the following message: "We're aware you may currently be affected by a power cut.

"We are getting engineers on the way to restore power to your area ASAP. 

"At this stage, we're aiming to have your power restored by 8.30pm." 

  • UPDATE (9pm): Only two postcodes in Wroxall remain affected. SSEN says it aims to restore power by 10.30pm.
