When will the Isle of Wight ferry companies get their acts together and provide a reliable service?
On Thursday, August 4, I needed an MRI scan at Southampton. I booked well in advance, allowing plenty of time, with Wightlink.
MRI scans are expensive and I have been waiting a while.
At 6am I received a text about cancelled early ferries, due to mechanical issues.
At 9am I received a further text saying there was at least a two-hour delay and the boats were very crowded, so I couldn’t be guaranteed a place at a suitable time.
Too late to get on Red Funnel. So I had to cancel, wasting precious time and money.
I have severe pain from hip arthritis and have been offered another appointment in three weeks.
The only option appears to go the night before and pay for a hotel and taxi.
