Earlier this week, a £21.50 burger, sold on the Isle of the Wight, hit national headlines following complaints about a charge to have ingredients left out of the burger.
Printed in the menu of the upmarket George Hotel in Yarmouth, was a line detailing a £2 fee to either add or even remove an ingredient from its George Burger.
In a Tweet, consumer journalist and feature writer Harry Wallop asked his followers to discuss the merits of imposing a fee to eliminate ingredients, after his colleague noticed the unusual stipulation on the menu.

The story was then picked up by the Jeremy Vine show, hosted by Vanessa Feltz.
Ms Feltz asked listeners for their thoughts, and was joined by Mr Wallop, who said it was "absolutely outrageous, madness," and he was "spitting feathers" over it.
The hotel said the whole thing had been a mix up and the price addition should never have appeared on the menu.
A hotel spokesperson said: "This was an unfortunate instance of an employee misinterpreting a discussion regarding extra toppings for the burger and they took it upon themselves to add a sentence to the menu which made no sense at all.
"As soon as the mistake was spotted, the menus were all reprinted and the employee will not ‘fiddle’ with the menu going forward.”
