A BURST water main has sent water billowing into the air in Newport this evening (Thursday, July 21).

The water main has burst down a small unnamed road opposite the entrance to Parkhurst Forest on Forest Road.
Southern Water teams arrived on the scene at 6.28pm.
A spokesperson said: "Your water supply should return to normal within three hours.
"You may notice some discolouration or low pressure at first; this is completely normal when there's been a disruption to the supply and is only temporary.
"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."
UPDATE 8.45pm - Water is still billowing into the air high above Forest Road, over two hours since the burst.
UPDATE on Friday AM: Supplies are back to normal and the burst has been fixed.
