JAZZ singer Edana Minghella, a member of the Isle of Wight's Minghella family, has died at the age of 63, it has been announced today.
Her partner Heather paid tribute on Twitter to the "woman of style, love, passion, joy, curiosity and furious politics".
Island jazz fans will know Edana from her lauded performances at music events.
Her debut CD, Still On My Feet, was released in 2011. The album was dedicated to her much loved family, and to her brother Anthony especially.
Anthony, the Oscar-winning film director, died at the age of 54 in 2008.
Edana's second album, All or Nothing, was a tribute to Billie Holiday.
Today, her brother Dominic, a television producer and screenwriter, posted on Twitter: "The hardest news. My beautiful sister. Our hearts are broken."
