Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely has now written to the influential 1922 committee of the Conservative Party, saying that under-fire Prime Minister Boris Johnson no longer has his support.
As Mr Seely says in his letter to Sir Graham Brady, 1922 Committee chairman, he believes that talking to his constituents on the Island, Mr Johnson has become an unnecessary distraction.
He says that there should be stronger focus on issues such as the economy and cost of living crisis at home, and threats in Eastern Europe and the Pacific abroad.
He also asks for a change in the rules preventing another vote of confidence in the PM, although it is believed the 1922 Committee has rejected that.
