Among the UK celebrities who were chosen as torch bearers were Isle of Wight sailors Shirley Robertson and Ellen MacArthur, who each ran a leg here on the Isle of Wight.
The torch arrived at approximately 12.45pm in Yarmouth, aboard the Wightlink ferry from Lymington.
A team of specially selected Isle of Wight torch-bearers took the torch from Yarmouth to Totland and then on to The Needles Park, before returning to Yarmouth.
It was then taken to Carisbrooke, Gunville and Newport and carried along Fairlee Road to Medina College, which was hosting the Isle of Wight Primary School Games.
Finally it went to Osborne House and East Cowes, before departing by Red Funnel ferry for Southampton.
