A NEWPORT cocktail bar and restaurant will soon be under new ownership, it has been announced.
The owners of Long Island, on Holyrood Street, are passing ownership of their restaurant to their former employee and head chef, Andy Wyatt.
Long Island is a cocktail bar which serves a Mexican inspired menu.
Posting on Facebook, they said: "Andy approached us with the idea of bringing his company TexMexico into the kitchen just under a year ago, and he's now ready to push his brand further and take the helm of the restaurant.
"Good luck to the team staying on with Andy, he's lucky to have you and we're excited to see what the future holds for you all."
During the transition of ownership, the venue will not be able to take online bookings, so customers are asked to call or message to book a table.
