Today's Round the Island Race is raising money for East Cowes-based charity, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
The Trust has five boats competing.
Among them is Solent Hero, which Dame Ellen MacArthur is racing on, alongside a group of intrepid young people.
At 3pm, on Saturday, the famous sailor and her young crew were heading towards Culver Cliff.
