Isle of Wight Festival Sunday meant a momentous homecoming for Wet Leg.

Last time they played here, in September, it was to a small and select crowd of festival-goers in-the-know.

What a difference nine months has made! Today, the Big Top was full to the rafters and there were as many people outside as there were inside.

The atmosphere was electric. Even the microphone soundchecker found herself whooped and cheered, as she worked her way along the stage.

When Hester, Rhian and the gang walked on stage, it was to huge appaluse - and it was much deserved.

Their sound is tight, rocky, quirky and ironic in equal measure.

There was a crowd rendition of Happy Birthday, to Roger who is turning 70 today, along with tracks including Wet Dream, Ur Mum and Oh No

Wet Leg ended their set with the song that has propelled them to global acclaim, Chaise Longue.

Remember when you used to be able to hear Hester's quiet 'What?' in answer to Rhian's lyric? It wasn't all that long ago.

Nowadays, the crowd does that part and more besides.

An incredible gig and definitely one of our Isle of Wight Festival 2022 highlights!

The best bit for the band though, Rhian told the crowd, was that it is "so nice to be doing a show where we can go back to our own beds at night!"

Next stop, Glastonbury and supporting Harry Styles in Australia.
