TWO people attending the Isle of Wight Festival received minor injuries when a metal pole came loose in high winds on Saturday afternoon.
They were relaxing in a bar under canvas when a tent pole came loose and hit them.
A witness, who saw one woman get injured, told the County Press: "A heavy steel tent pole hit a woman when it became dislodged in high winds in a beer bar in the Octopus Garden area."
"A festival spokesperson said: "During a period of high winds on site yesterday, two people received minor injuries when a pole within a small bar tent became loose.
"Medical attention was provided within four minutes by the onsite medical team, the structure was safely secured and both people were discharged back into the festival.
"The health and safety of all festival goers is of utmost importance to the festival team."
On the Main Stage, the music had to stop for safety reasons when the winds picked up.
Blossoms had to finish their set early, but action was back on for Kasabian - although the speakers couldn't be raised to the top of the stage and the sound appeared muffled for many watching.
The problems were resolved by the time Pete Tong took to the stage.
