IT WAS a show of epic proportions as befits a Saturday night Main Stage headline slot at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Crowds were rewarded for their patience in staying on through the sudden wind and rain, sound problems during Kasabian's set and the sudden cancellation of Blossoms.

The thousands who stayed were treated to a show with a difference - a legendary 90s DJ and former Radio 1 star who is an industry icon, putting the very best dance music to a huge live orchestra.

The Essential Orchestra was conducted by Jules Buckley and was joined by some special guest singers.

The songs were Ibiza classics and the crowd was transported, forgetting the typical English weather for an hour and a half.

Among the special guest singers were Jessie Ware, who had earlier had a main stage slot herself, and to the huge cheers of the crowd, surprise guest John Newman came on to sing his song Feel the Love.

It led fans to wonder - will he appear today with Rudimental, whose track it was?
