ALL live music at the main stage of the Isle of Wight Festival has been suspended until further notice after high winds threatened part of the stage set up, during a performance this evening (Saturday).
Blossoms were performing a song when they were suddenly called off, to the bewilderment of the large crowd.
Some of the set had to be dismantled to prevent problems - leaving the sky visible through the back of Main Stage.

Then festival organiser John Giddings walked on stage to announce music was suspended on safety grounds, due to high winds at Newport's Seaclose Park.
The rigging for lights have had to be lowered in the main stage field for safety reasons.
Thousands of fans are awaiting an update as the crew continue to do safety checks.

Blossoms will no longer be performing, but Mr Giddings says Kasabian will be on next as soon as possible.
UPDATE: 8.30PM
Normal service has resumed on the main stage, following difficulties due to high winds. Kasabian have now started their set.
