The Isle of Wight's Armed Forces Champion was at Buckingham Palace for Trooping the Colour on Thursday, as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, alongside Dame Kelly Holmes, Bear Grylls and Sir Michael Palin.
Grandstand seating outside the palace was set up exclusively for the use of the Armed Forces community, including current and former serving members and their families - and Binstead and Fishbourne's Cllr Ian Dore was among them.
Invited by the Royal British Legion to be at the once-in-a-lifetime event, Cllr Dore told the County Press: "It was a true honour to be invited.
"It was smiles all round and being there, as a representative of the Island, was very humbling. The whole day was as exhilarating as it was emotional."

Cllr Dore, who has previously met Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex and Prince Charles, said: "The Queen was my boss for some time and is the epitome of regal dignity.
"That’s a bucket list box (Royally) ticked!
"She appeared happy, relaxed and was enjoying proceedings; clearly relishing the event with her family. They all looked magnificent."
Joanna Lumley was among the celebrities in the crowd, helping deliver commentary on the BBC's live tv coverage.

Cllr Dore said: "My 4 year old Daughter had made a little flag at school the week before.
"I took it with me so that, in some small way, she could feel part of such an historic event.
"It's something for her memory box!"
