A YELLOW weather warning for thundery showers and an advisory for large waves goes live tomorrow (Saturday).

Local forecaster, Jamie Russell, for the IW Met Service, says during the early hours of Saturday morning, we are likely to see some heavy and thundery downpours developing.

Rainfall totals of 20-30mm are possible in some areas, falling in short, sharp, intense bursts.

Occasional lightning is also likely.

The yellow weather warning goes live at 2am, and runs until 11am.

Meanwhile, from 7am to 10pm, an advisory for large waves is in effect.

Jamie says east to north-easterly winds will increase during the daytime, causing increasingly large waves to develop along eastern and southern coasts.

Coastal wave heights of six to eight feet are possible at times, with occasional waves approaching ten feet in height from Whitecliff Bay to Luccombe, and four to six feet from Bonchurch to Niton and Seaview to Bembridge.
