When performers from the Isle of Wight join a spectacular pageant this weekend, as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, we will be looking out for them on the television.

Members of Shademakers, based in Ryde, and the Ventnor Comic Jazz Band will be performing, on Sunday, June 5.
Expect knights in shining armour, unicorns and lions among the 200 characters being brought to life, in the Islanders' part of the parade through the capital.

In February, when the Isle of Wight County Press was lucky enough to get a sneak preview, movement director Joe Plumb explained the theme: Britishness, creativity and humour.
In May, we caught up with them as they rehearsed their routine at the Island Riding Centre, near Newport. In costumes designed by artistic director, Paul McLaren, they ran through their paces.
