The Earl and Countess of Wessex are to visit the Isle of Wight today (Tuesday).

The Queen's youngest son and his wife are expected to carry out a number of engagements, days before the country stops to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The Royal couple will visit Pan Estate in Newport, where they will see work done by the Community Centre, Barnardo's Family Centre, and at Barton Primary School. Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, will also be at the Isle of Wight Agricultural Society Education Day, at the Royal County Showground, and will visit the Isle of Wight charities Independent Arts and South West Area Youth (SWAY).

The Royal couple are no strangers to the Isle of Wight. In 2018, they visited Ryde, meeting the team at Aspire Ryde and naming Wightlink's Victoria of Wight ferry.
In 2020, meanwhile, the Prince visited West Wight Sports and Community Centre, to learn bout its Covid-19 lockdown hub.
In 2014, they were in Cowes and East Cowes, including at St Mildred's Church and Queensgate Primary School and in 2016, they met the Wight Jewels ice dance team as well as seeing a new hovercraft.
