MOTHER nature put on an incredible light show last night, with lightning flashing across the sky in an extended display.
The County Press reported live from Ventnor seafront (video below) and several people sent in their photos.
Despite the storm looming large over The Solent, heading our way from France, the rain and thunder didn't come to much in the end.
However, the lightning was a sight to behold!

While our 3rd Officer, Tom Veall, was on the 2000-0000 anchor watch at Salt Mead Anchorage, #IsleOfWight, he managed to catch this stunning lightning shot.
