AN INCIDENT which happened on Mountbatten Drive in Newport has seen three people found guilty after a trial.
A woman was convicted of assaulting a child, a man damaged a front door and another man was convicted of a public order offence.
The fracas broke out on April 22, 2021. All three denied the charges and the matter was heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court last week, where they were found guilty.
Elizabeth (known as Lizzie) Smith, 35, formerly of Newport Road, Cowes, and now care of Lane End Close, Bembridge, was convicted of assault by beating.
Martin James Hall, 34, of Wellesley Way, Newport, was convicted of intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress, by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Both were fined £180 and must pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £217.
William James Worrell, 35, of Newport Road, Cowes, was convicted of causing damage to a front door and locks.
He must pay compensation of £200 and court costs of £217.
