MOVE quickly if you want to get tickets for Bembridge Little Theatre Club's upcoming show — their last three were complete sell-outs!
The renowned Noel Coward play Blithe Spirit is the next show, and is bound to be a fun-filled evening.
Charles Condomine is a typically understated English gentleman living quietly with his second wife Ruth — until the evening he decides to hold a seance, as research for his new book.
An unbeliever, what he does not expect is the appearance of the ghost of his first wife Elvira, a very different person to the strait-laced Ruth who, unable to see the ‘blithe spirit’, thinks her husband is going mad.
Elvira however, is determined to get her own way, with unforeseen consequences for Charles, Ruth, and their maid Edith.
The humour of the play relies on the ridiculousness of human social behaviour and interaction, richly brought to life by the talented actors of BLTC, aided and abetted by the technical and backstage crews — for the play involves some intricate special effects.
The show is at Bembridge Village Hall on Thursday, May 12, Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 at 7.30pm and on Sunday, May 15, at 2.30pm.
