ONE of the Isle of Wight’s favourite late summer events turns 21 this year and this year it will welcome a star from TV's Bangers and Cash.
The 21st Isle of Wight International Charity Classic Car Extravaganza will be held at Ryde Esplanade on the weekend of September 3-4.

The ever-popular two-day car show is a week earlier this year to avoid the Tour of Britain cycling event, which finishes on the Isle of Wight later in September.
For more than two decades, the classic car extravaganza has grown into a massive international event attracting every imaginable type of classic, retro and historic vehicle from all over mainland Britain, Europe and beyond.
Organiser Vic Gallucci said: “This charity event is unique and has been built-up steadily year-on-year — when we first started we would encourage exhibitors to stay over for the weekend of the show, however the Island has proved so popular that we now have exhibitors staying over for four to six nights and making a real holiday of it.”
In all, some 1,000 stunning examples will adorn the entire mile-long Ryde Esplanade, making it one the Isle of Wight’s top spectacles.
With free entry to the public, this year’s show will have collections for Isle of Wight Round Table and Mountbatten hospice.
There is a special guest at this year’s show — Sarah Crabtree, who is a big fan of all things vintage
Sarah is best known for her role in the television series, Bangers & Cash, which she appeared in from 2019 to 2021.
She is now a director and brand ambassador of Evoke Classics and is looking forward to seeing all the fantastic cars at the show.
Vic and his team would like to thank the event’s long-standing sponsors and supporters, including Wightlink, Isle of Wight Council, Ryde Town Council, the County Press, Corralls Coal in Newport and Island Roads.
He would also like to thank Gallagher Insurance Brokers of Newport, which is a new sponsor this year.
In addition, Vectis Car Club, Hitchcock Autos in Ryde, Royal Esplanade Hotel in Ryde and Prices Garage Newport are among those who have given their support to this year’s event.
Entries for the car show are now pouring in from the Island, mainland and beyond and the cars pictured on this page are just a handful of the vehicles already signed up.
Vic said: “I am receiving masses of enquiries from people who want to bring their vehicles to the show, which is great.”
Anyone wishing to display a vehicle in the classic car extravaganza must apply in advance and register with Vic Gallucci on the booking line, which is 020 8439 7871.
To ensure a space at this very popular event, it is strongly recommended that any application is made before August 31.
