Islanders and visitors might be left scratching their heads this week about how to get from A to Z.

A series of road closures, diversions, one-way systems and overnight works are being undertaken.

Much of the work is due to WightFibre works.

Here's what you need to know:

WHITWELL

A one-way system will commence on Whitwell High Street and Bannock Road on Tuesday morning until June 27.

For these two months, a clockwise one-way system will be in place on High Street and Bannock Road.

Those travelling NORTHBOUND will have to divert left from High Street into Kemming Road, right into Bannock Road to then re-join the High Street.

Travelling SOUTHBOUND will continue to use High Street as normal (with a one-way restriction).

Access to Bannock Road and Strathwell Crescent will be from Kemming Road only.

Access to Nettlecombe Lane, Nettlecombe Farm, White Horse Inn and Whitwell Garage will be via the northern end of the High Street (or via Bannock Road if approaching from the south) only.

It will be while WightFibre carry out duct installation works to bring villagers super-fast broadband.

Works will predominantly take place during the hours of 8am to 6pm but the one-way system is in place 24/7.
