A RECOVERY crew had one of its trickiest jobs for years after a car rolled down a Newchurch hill and ended up across a narrow lane stuck between two hedges.
Police were called to the single-vehicle incident, on Skinner's Hill, at 8.12am today (Saturday).
A white Audi had rolled through a hedge and blocked the road.
Police said the car's handbrake may have malfunctioned.
No other vehicles were involved, but the narrow road, with very few areas in which to turn, caused some traffic problems until the police were able to temporarily close it — between Alverstone Road and Skinner's Lane — to allow for recovery of the vehicle.
