A HUGELY popular Easter Egg Hunt ended in sadness when some visitors abused the volunteers involved.
Daisy Chains Isle of Wight, a charity that helps children and babies who have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness or long term health condition or disability, held the event at Brading Roman Villa today.
However, it was so popular it sold out within an hour of the event, so some families weren't able to go in.
It led to some abuse of volunteers who were there to help people park their cars.
The charity put a warning on social media that they were halting entry to the event, and later added a thank you to all those who supported it.
They said: "We have had such an amazing response to our Easter egg hunt, more than ever before and we have now sold out of hunts.
"We understand this is frustrating for those that haven’t made it but as a charity we can only buy so many and this year we had more then ever.
"Thank you to those that were so super patient and waited for us to get through the queue.
"I would also like to thank our volunteers who have been abused today while trying to park cars and help people.
"This really isn’t on and I’m saddened that this has happened.
"On the upside we have had a lovely day so thank you to those that supported us."
An outpouring of support has been shown to the charity on their Facebook page.
The event featured characters, magic, slime-making, facepainting and refreshments and stalls.
