Many Island-based groups have taken part in this year’s Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival.

Among the performing arts groups taking part in this year's event have been Fusion Arts Academy and the Joel Morris Dance Academy. But many of the stars of this year’s festival belong to Theatretrain Isle of Wight, which had many successes in the singing classes.

Hannah Caudle, vocal coach for Theatretrain here on the Isle of Wight, said: “I am so proud of all my students! For a number of them, this was their first year competing, and they managed to walk away with cups and medals.

“Not only have they had numerous classes in the festival to prepare for, we’ve also had a full-scale musical of Peter Pan (with Theatretrain), musical theatre exams, singing exams and mainland festivals.

"My students love taking part in the festival, it is such a friendly competition and has a huge variety of classes - we are so grateful to the volunteers to putting on such a fab festival each year!"
